Our Communications Consulting
in the Emergency Sector
When it comes to communications strategies in the Emergency sector, Multitone has extensive experience in vital areas, most prominently within the Fire Service. Each project we undertake is unique in its requirements, and we face the challenges specific to not only each sector but also each localised department. We utilise the skills, technology and expertise gained over nearly four decades' work within these sectors.
Multitone employs an in-depth knowledge of compliance procedures, and our development teams are experts in creating communications solutions that meet all government and industry compliance standards surrounding GD92. Specific issues that our team are familiar with include the requirement for all systems to meet with extremely high resilience specifications and secure protocol procedures. Every strategy we implement integrates both primary and secondary systems, to ensure messages are delivered and backups are in place.

Fire Services

When working with individual Fire Stations within the service, the communication process between the Command and Control Centre (C&C) and the stations is a vital element in the strategies we create. Our challenge, on projects such as this, is to improve the time-critical message process from the C&C to remote stations and, from there to relevant management and staff. As a result of our solutions, emergency situations are now communicated quickly and efficiently from C&C, to station, to alerter. In addition, our integrated communications systems include station specific procedures such as; automated control of message printing; door opening and access systems; electrical and lighting systems; sounders and alerters; and synchronisation of traffic lights.

The scope of Multitone's skills is evident in the scale of one of our recent, ongoing projects for the London Fire Brigade. This involved upgrading their paging network to increase speed and coverage ahead of the forthcoming Olympics. Multitone is also the chosen supplier of Station End equipment for Fire Control, England's regional fire control project.

Hospital Services

Multitone also works within other areas of the Emergency sector such as hospitals. In medical emergencies, time-critical messaging is vital to provide an optimised response. We are currently working with hospitals creating and implementing integrated communication systems including; instant individual or team paging calls; reducing multiple alarm management systems to one single alarm reception centre for fast, accurate responses to any emergency situation; the ability to link to a range of monitoring equipment and nurse call solutions for rapid responses; and the ability to network with digital wireless telephone equipment for totally integrated on-site wireless communications capability.

Multitone engineers provide solutions not just products and we are focused on providing an integrated communications network for your business. From concept through to completion and beyond, our strategies ensure that every entity within your network can communicate effectively and intelligently.
