Multitone releases second generation EkoTek products
Multitone has announced the release of a second generation of its wireless tracking and personal safety system with precise location using its patented EkoTek ® technology.
The wireless communications company has launched an extension to this innovative product range, including:
• EkoTek ® slave IP hub: this offers synchronous connection via LAN to a master hub, and enables effective wide geographical coverage
• Solar-powered repeater: for outdoor coverage with a rechargeable solar powered cell. This repeater is tested to IP65 and is also UV and corrosion proof
• Call point repeater: a repeater unit with a red push button for alarm activation
• Call point repeater: with contact for connection to external switches or third party pull cord for alarm activation
• Snatch cord pager: an updated emergency call transmitter with a rip cord for alarm activation (panic alarm)
All of these second generation products are available now.
EkoTek ® is a completely wireless system with low installation costs, which meets a number of application requirements, where legislation or individual safety guidelines stipulate tracking and personal safety systems for high risk workplaces. The system can also be configured to act as a fire registration arrangement.
The system has a serial data interface transmitter, which allows it to be used with other applications, such as connecting to a room call system so messages are relayed to staff through the hub to their pagers for improved response times.
“Our battery-powered repeaters allow us to keep installation costs to a minimum. Once the repeaters are positioned in line with our site survey, no other detection transmitters are necessary. As a result, the investment in our EkoTek system is much more favourable than for a cabled system and enables organisations with limited budget to make use of this advanced and effective technology” explains Dr. Dean Hewlett, EkoTek Product Manager at Multitone.
“There is an increasing interest in employee protection and security. With the existing and second generation products now available, we can provide staff location and safety solutions for a wide range of industries including psychiatry centres, forensic science units, addiction clinics, and courtrooms.“
